Omg this was like the busiest 2 weeks I have had in a long time. Not a bad thing just will do some wear and tear on the weekends and promote a lot more laziness than usual (also not a bad thing). Plus the overtime should be helpful saving money right now.
No official word on the house has really come like I was hoping. It really leaves me in an awkward position because I’ve been doing this all year long, and regardless what decision I make whether to walk or stay in it I’m still forced to wait even longer. I decided to go couch shopping today to try and rekindle the excitement of house buying with my buddy Chris today. Ultimately I’m looking for a super comfy couch, one that can be used as a nap couch. This is kind of genius because if I am ever “forced to sleep on the couch”, at least I’ll be comfortable. Plus its kind of bachelor pad-ish for me to want something fun that mutliple people can sit on and have a good time watching sports or playing video games (should I ever decide to get an xbox…doubtful). Anyways you get the point. So this Wednesday will be MY decision day with it. I’m going to do a walk through of the current house that is pending to see if physically it is still something worth staying in, plus seeing 3 other potential places as a replacement. Either way I think I may sign a short term lease in Chandler until something materializes, Scottsdale is nice and all but its just not that much fun unless I’m at home. And that isn’t even that often. Crossing fingers for Wednesday though…
OK onto some positive stuff. The past 2 weekends have been great, ventured out and tried new places. Last weekend I went to Downunder Wines out in the Chandler/Gilbert area. They specialized in Australian wines and foods. The wine was OK but I think what really made that night was the dinner, kangaroo spring rolls. That’s right, I ate kangaroo and I don’t feel bad! It was actually really good! There was also a flatbread with grilled chicken and curry beef kabobs to go with it which were all equally tasty as well. This weekend I did my first restaurant week ever and went to The Roaring Fork. I used to go there back in high school just to eat their acclaimed “big ass burger” and finish it. This time I decided to be much classier about it (for other obvious reasons). Started out with green chile pork, a mixture that you put in a tortilla and I think there is not really a non messy way of eating it. So divine, I could eat that anytime. The main dish was the pork chop plate with a tamale, I also had some of the roasted chicken, stuffing and grilled veggies. Dessert completed the meal with a cheese plate and chocolate torte…both of which were also amazing. For wine there was just a bunch of pinot grigio, can never go wrong with that! I can’t say much for my dinner tonight though, that consisted of a $5 box from Taco Bell. HELL YEAH IT WAS GOOD!
So now I’m kind of bored. In between texting and playing with the new Facebook timeline profile and finding new stuff to listen to on Spotify it is not really that eventful. I’m learning looking at couches online is pretty useless since I have no idea if they are even worth sitting on other than how they look. I guess that will have to be something to do after work this week. The new timeline stuff is pretty trippy, though I don’t think its a good move for Facebook to make. It kinda kills everything that it used to be and make it wrong. Don’t get me wrong I think it’ll do really well but have a different crowd to it. Or I could be completely wrong and the entire population of Facebook has advanced enough with the internet to be able to use complex features. I really highly doubt that given what I do on a daily basis…oh well.
Here’s to a good week, and a glass of scotch to close out the night!
